Dear Friends and Supporters,

It was great to see the students arriving at Cesar Chavez Community Center last Saturday. Returning students were excited to see their teachers and friends. New students were excited to meet their teachers and make some new friends.

Everyone was excited to make music together. Hearing the sounds wafting through the hallways was a welcome experience.

Later that morning Mariachi Juvenil de Riverside del Riverside Arts Academy opened the Tamale Festival. Even after only a few rehearsals, there was so much joy and pride in the accomplishment of these students. The promise was made that they would be back with more music in the future. The crowd loved the group and their music.

This week Dr. Nové and Traivon Williams had the initial rehearsal with the Riverside Children’s Choir. I can hardly wait to hear this ensemble in the future.

It is great to hear the music come alive again. The Fundraising Committee is still looking for auction items and sponsorships for Spanish Nights on November 4. Please donate items, sell tickets, and attend this great night to raise funds for RAA’s continuing success.

We are excited to be honoring our three Community Impact Award recipients at the Spanish Nights gala: Kathy Allavie (2020 honoree), Assemblymember Jose Medina (2021 honoree), and the Northgate Gonzalez Market Family (2021 honoree).
