Thanks to the generous donations and support from individuals like yourself the 2016/2017 Riverside Arts Academy (RAA) has thrived. Our dynamic team of members have been key to providing financial assistance, advocacy and helped to build attendance at events. Funds raised through memberships have been used to purchase instruments, art materials and provide specialized instruction during the past year. Here are just a few of our success stories:
- The December 2016 Gift of Giving Gala raised over $40,000.
- Members rocked out at the Box with John Russo, City Manager, and his band Civil Defense during our annual Instrument Drive!
- RAA received the Award of Excellence from the California Park and Recreation Society and Champion of the Community Award from the California Park and Recreation Society.
- Classes continued to be held in the Eastside, Casa Blanca, Arlanza and a newly added Choral group was added to the La Sierra community.
- Affiliation with with the nationally recognized Harmony Project helped to create our first youth orchestra!
- Number of registered students has surpassed 400 in the summer of 2017.
